Hello! So I have my youtube channel that has actually become pretty successful in the last year. It now has 1300 subscribers! And because of that, a really nice network approached me and asked if I wanted to join. So basically if I join they would place adds on my videos and I would get 90% of the profit. About 4 to 5 euros per thousand views. And for me that sounds really nice and the network seems to be great and trurstworthy too!

But I started to wonder that would it be legal for me to gain profit from my MMD videos that use models, accessories, motions and songs that are made by other people? I also have VOCALOID and UTAU covers on my channel. They also use Ust files made by others.

So am I just overthinking this or would it really be illegal? All help and answers would be appriciated!

It's finicky business. Most MMD users, including content creators, use their own "licenses" that do not cover everything, or have ambiguous definitions.
The definition of Creative Commons NC license is a good reference point:
Reusers may make NonCommercial uses only, even when reusing NC material with other works.

The NC licenses limit reusers to NonCommercial uses of the work only, which includes when the work is used in a collection or when it is adapted. For example, an NC essay may not be included as part of a collection in a commercially distributed book of essays, even if it is only a small portion of the book. For an example of an adaptation, an NC song may be used as the basis for a video where the visual elements are under a different license such as the BY license. When the music video is distributed as a whole, it may not be used commercially because of the NC license of the song.

Basically, if anything you use is restricted to NC, the entire video from 0:00:00 to the very end, its audio, subtitles, everything, will be restricted to NC.
It's worthy of note that the description and annotations are not parts of the video, therefore are not restricted to NC. Several YouTube channels use them for advertisement with commercial purposes.
